Ishihama: lesson from the wind

Build yourself up as a tower of strength and you are nothing more than a bag of wind…which a gust will soon topple. And sure enough it did, just as I was shooting our attempts at stone balancing. After a weekend of Tai chi, the lesson from the wind was most timely.

Looking at the squat remains, it is obviously better to be rooted in the face of the elements – that is strength.

Eight forces sustain creation:
Movement and stillness,
Solidification and fluidity,
Extension and contraction,
Unification and division.
