WPC: Near and Far

near and far view from the Tidemill quay at Woodbridge

When I first viewed this image out of the camera I was uncertain about the inclusion of the car. Initially I’d decided to crop it out but in so doing realised all perspective and consequent character would be lost (the car not only ties the eye in to the foreground but encapsulates much of the scene in the reflections). The more I look at it, the more I like the composition – it reminds me of a car advert with freedom as the unstated tag line in the distant horizon. Or maybe the Milk Tray action man has come and taken a boat out to the chocaholic lady who loves.

With a stormy sky overhead, the tidal river Deben is creeping back in from the far reaches of the sea to join the WordPress photo challenge of ‘Near and Far’.
