Everglade grotto

an everglade grotto of bald cypress trees

Along the thicketed stream, Bald Cypress trees create a magical walk for mother and child. More Evergladers than sedate woodlanders, these SE American  natives,Taxodium distichum, transplanted well to London’s ancient, regal hunting grounds at Bushy Park. Approximately 180 years old, their strange root formations or ‘knees’ keep these enormous trees stabilised in the soft, riparian earth.
