Tagged M for Moss

moss covered fallen tree in winter woodland

“I’ve seen the future baby, it is murder”. So sings Leonard Cohen and you don’t have to be a pessimist to acknowledge that what lies ahead is  not all bright orange with a rosy glow.

Even so, the emerald ‘hand of decay’ in this Surrey woodland is most beautiful, with some added HDR help. Besides, mosses do not murder but live on decaying matter, often converting the constituents into re-usable elements whilst matting the whole in a sensuous glory.  Seeing moss under a microscope is even more marvellous.

This was going to be my entry for the WP photo challenge of ‘future tense’ but Frizztext has saved me from maudlin with his  tagged M challenge instead.
