Juxt-a-pose #4

juxtapose_separate_pathsIn this collaged couplet of contrast, the elderly walker appears to have taken a side path though a shop doorway whilst the young and agile have gone on, their horizons a far distant vanishing point. A clock marks the time and bicycles juxtapose pointedly with the walking stick, which in turn parallels the slant of the tree.

An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress
