Simply Suffolk #7

the Butley ferry at BoytonPale and watery is the outlook on the deserted foot ferry over the Butley river where the ferryman’s boat lies at anchor until woken for a weekend service, carrying cyclist, pedestrian and bird watcher. Meanwhile dry grasses whisper and years of history rise out of the cracked mudbanks, from village folk in Tudor costume right up to the aluminium stick of today’s walker. A good spot on which to end this mini series of  #simplysuffolk
