WPC: Masterpiece

sicilian avenue triptychDesigned as a Bloomsbury boulevard to match that of Mayfair’s shopping arcades, Sicilian Avenue owes its ornate Italianate architecture to the skills of Worley, and the then Duke of Bedford’s love of Sicily.

With all the appeal of an early twentieth century folly, the pedestrian precinct remains as striking as ever with a marbled elegance that is over the top, yet retains a cool, calm and charming ambience.
