Continuing the warm winter trend, April in London has seen above average temperatures through much of the month. Midway there was a dry sunny period of 10 days but after that, it has been a much more changeable picture, with rainfall in the southern counties living up to expectations of April showers…and more. Strong, gusty winds have been evident at times and the dominant and anomalous weather pattern has been the south to southeasterly flow over all parts of the British Isles.
May is threatening a chill factor but we shall see…

Lovely images of April! Have a great weekend.
and May you have one too 😉
A great little slide show with a poetic commentary!
thank you – there’s metre in meteorology Bryan!
I enjoyed your gallery. We had a frost last night in Suffolk. I had to run round the garden in the dark with table clothes. I think tomorrow is going to be warmer.
amusing image of the tablecloth rescuer Chloris 🙂 as predicted May has a sharp feel
so pretty … I wonder what the weather will be like in June when we visit?? as long as there are flowers 😉
the runes for June are about average temps- sun, storm and rain to pimp the roses 🙂 forecast
thanks Laura!
Perfect depiction of our variable spring weather. Love the sirrus clouds. Cool and grey here today, but the wildflowers are starting to bloom on the cliffs.
there’s a nip in the air and the ususal bank holiday let-down but Spring flowers care not one jot!
