Monochrome Madness #28

Elephantine river piers  on which the ethereal Millenium bridge is suspended across the Thames in its ‘blade of light’ design. Increasing exposure in high contrast has lent emphasis to the perpendicular and  focus to the man-made aspects, by bleaching  out the natural elements of sky and water.  This, the finale in a recent series of pillars, posts and bridges, returns to black and white for Monochrome Madness week 28.  Exif_JPEG_PICTURE

  1. I really admire this picture. Although, before the internet, I took photos almost exclusively in black and white, I’ve not cracked how to get the blacks to work with digital cameras.

  2. Funny, isn’t it, how the subtle elegance of the bridge depends on such unsubtle and positively monumental support. I’ve enjoyed your bridge series, I always find myself drawn to them myself, bridges, doors and gates, but you made it all more interesting by using different viewpoints.
