Thursday trees: Understated

Invariably mid-Autumn gives golden, photogenic captures that leave us gasping with delight, especially when the sun shines. But yesterday in St James’ park I found trees still quite green and moodily muted in the late afternoon light:

autumn_fig
doesn’t give a fig for autumn

autumn_beech_stjamespark
beech does burnished beautifully
autumn_weeping_tree_stjamespark
a favourite tree I like to visit – thinning, weeping ?hazel*
autumn_cercis
Cercis ‘forest pansy’ in tune with its canadesis origins
autumn_lake_stjamespark
how green is my autumn!
