Glory be!

Looking East for Easter – not as far as Jerusalem but to Suffolk and St Edmund – East Anglian King, Christian martyr and contender for English Patron saint. Dedicated in many of our churches as here in this 15th century Gothic church of Assington. A glorious sight for Easter Sunday!

For here live hopebright hearts who hallowed by their cares
Have kept the Faith of Martyr Edmund and his Lord.
Beseeching blessings from above they seek with prayers
The Coming Soon of Him Who is by them Adored*
