Near & Far in HCM

Continuing from the colour shots of yesterday, in high contrast mono this time. Am still ‘covering the waterfront’ with my Panasonic Lumix 30mm 2.8. Feeling out its capabilities and my own adjustments to a prime lens.

enter stage right a touch of drama from the Thames police
dramatic skies and high contrast frontage of architecture on the North bank of the Thames
Glowering skies coming down  upon the Millennium bridge

And as this should have been published Friday, I include some flora – with fauna too, though with bees, obviously not getting too far into the touchy-feely distances that the f2.8 lens requires for a macro.

Not a honey but Carder bees making the most of Lavender planters at the Barbican

Postscript: a fall yesterday has resulted in a broken arm which will compromise my camera holding abilities – no doubt the tripod can help out instead

  1. Oh my goodness – broken arm!? A right nuisance for both photography and daily life, so sorry to hear that. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery, Laura!

Ouch. Hope it was a clean break and heals quickly. I don’t see how you will be able to shoot but, if you’re anything like me, you’ll find a way! Enjoyed these photos, especially the birds on the bridge!
