Looking up

I’ve been trialling the 3:2 aspect ratio, typified by  35mm camera and finding subjects to suit. The longer, narrower portrait is ideal for towering shots – whilst the landscape view enables an interesting perspective on a church’s spired heights. Ideal for Easter and the heavenly uplift this day gives us.

I said to my soul, be still, and let the dark come upon you Which shall be the darkness of God. As, in a theatre, The lights are extinguished, for the scene to be changed
“And not the lifetime of one man only But of old stones that cannot be deciphered. There is a time for the evening under starlight”

Quotes from T S Eliot’s East Coker for this Easter Sunday Sayings: Meditations and inspirations from Scripture or Literature.

  1. Nice shots. It’s very easy to fall into the trap of never trying different aspect ratios to find what works best. It’s also difficult when something is too tall for the frame – the Dutch Angle technique works well here.
